Question about a weird noise from a Samsung dryer I fixed in Austin

This dryer was making a loud thumping sound that sounded like a bad roller, but all the rollers and the belt were fine. I pulled the drum and found a single kid's sock wedged between the drum and the back panel, which was hitting the heater box. Has anyone else found something unusual causing a noise that sounded like a major part failure?

The part about the library layout in chapter 4 actually made a lot more sense after I read the author's blog post about it. I saw @eva_garcia56 mention frustration and I get that, the pacing in the middle threw me off too. But honestly that third floor scene with the old map, that was what hooked me. It reminded me of a similar setup in that book from last year, "The Last Archive," but this version felt way more grounded.
