My kid asked why our new fridge has a screen but the old one just kept things cold
I was fixing a 20 year old dryer in my garage last week and my son pointed at our new fridge. He said it looks like a tablet stuck on the front. It hit me how much stuff we add now that has nothing to do with the core job. That old dryer just needed a new belt and a thermal fuse, maybe $30 in parts. I miss when the fix was the thing, not resetting a computer board. What's the most pointless 'feature' you've had to explain to a customer?

My new oven has a mandatory app to preheat it, which is just baffling.

What if your internet goes out mid-casserole?
