I finally got the old Maytag washer in my garage to run after three tries, but it sprayed water everywhere.

I was testing a new pump I installed in my own machine in Denver, and the inlet hose clamp wasn't fully seated. Has anyone else had a simple clamp cause a big mess like that?

Did you end up going with the ratchet style or the quick release after that? I learned the hard way that cheap clamps with plastic handles are a disaster waiting to happen, especially if you're torquing them down tight. My advice is always keep a spare pair of locking pliers within arm's reach, just in case one decides to let go mid-project. Makes a huge difference when you're trying to avoid a redo.
