I finally changed my mind about aftermarket dryer thermostats

Used to swear by OEM only for safety reasons, until a senior repairer in Phoenix showed me his data on 200+ units using a specific brand. Three years later I trust them for basic heat cycling parts, but still stick to OEM for anything with a control board interface. Any of you guys gone full aftermarket or still picking and choosing?

Have you checked if the aftermarket ones have the same thermal cutoff rating or just the cycling temp? I found a batch that looked identical but cut off way hotter than spec, which freaked me out for safety.

Did you end up testing the cutoff temps yourself? I grabbed a cheap multimeter with a thermocouple probe and checked a few batches against my old OEM ones. Found some variance but nothing dangerous as long as I avoided the no-name brands.
