Heard a customer say they'd rather buy new than fix their 5 year old dryer

They said the repair quote was $200, but a new unit was $700. I get that new is shiny, but isn't fixing almost always the better deal for the planet and the wallet? What's your go-to line when someone says this to you?

It's frustrating how disposable everything feels now.

My grandpa's 1980s truck still runs better than stuff I bought last year. They really don't build things the same anymore.
