Finally got that 10-year-old Samsung fridge ice maker working again

After three failed attempts over the last 2 months swapping out the auger motor and ice bucket assembly, turns out the real issue was a frozen water line behind the fridge that I cleared with a hair dryer in 20 minutes.

My buddy had basically the same thing happen with his Whirlpool ice maker last summer lol. He wasted like 3 weekends taking apart the whole ice bucket assembly before a repair guy told him to just check the line behind it with a hairdryer. That's wild how something so simple can mess up everything for months.

Wait did the repair guy actually say to use a hairdryer on the line or just check if it was frozen? Tbh I always thought you'd risk melting the plastic or something if you aimed heat right at the back of the fridge. Bet your buddy felt dumb when the whole thing was fixed in 20 minutes though.

Honestly people act like a frozen water line is this huge ordeal, takes like 10 minutes to thaw. Seems like a lot of drama over something that fixes itself most of the time anyway.
