Ditched my old multimeter for a clamp meter on compressor checks

I used to always hook up my standard multimeter leads to test compressor windings, took forever and I kept getting sketchy readings. Switched to a clamp meter about 2 months ago after a buddy told me, "Just clamp it on the start wire, you'll see." Now I check start and run caps in seconds without breaking the circuit. Anyone have issues with clamp meters being less accurate on small draw like a fridge compressor?

@hugow30 wait you're saying 3 amps is too small for a clamp meter??

Yeah but clamp meters aren't great for reading tiny current draws, that's the tradeoff.
