Customer pointed out a quirk in my dryer vent installs

Had a woman in Phoenix say her old repair guy always left a 2 inch gap before the wall plate. I laughed it off but tried it on the next job and airflow actually felt better. Anyone else tweak their vent routing based on homeowner feedback?

Ha, yeah I was the same way! @phoenixgonzalez I thought it looked like a hack job at first too but it really does let the air breathe better. I tried it after a customer in Tucson showed me their old setup and the difference was obvious. Now I leave about that same gap on every install unless the wall plate is sealed tight.

Funny enough I used to think that gap was just lazy work but now I swear by it.
