Can we talk about those cheap universal washer door latches?

I used to think they were a decent fix for a quick buck, but after one failed on me in under 3 months, I'm back to ordering the OEM part every time. The plastic on the universal one just doesn't have the same flex and snaps right at the catch point. Anyone found a universal brand that actually holds up?

Years" is a long time. Did you get a specific brand from that store, or is it just their house label?

Honestly, I've had the opposite luck. The generic ones from the parts store down the street have lasted me years.

Wait, are we calling the parts store house brand "generic" though? I mean, most of those house labels are just relabeled from one of the big suppliers like Standard or Echlin. If you got lucky with a batch from a good factory, they'll hold up fine, but it's not really a generic part. It's just a box with a different name on it.
