Botched a dishwasher motor replacement and now it hums
I installed a new motor in a dishwasher recently. After turning it on, it just hums and won't spin. What could be causing this, and how do I fix it?

Been there, I messed up the wiring on mine and had to take the whole thing apart again.

Oh man that's the worst... but you know what nobody talks about? How after you mess up once, you get scared to push any wire in all the way the next time. You just kinda tap it in and hope, and then it comes loose later. Makes the whole fix take twice as long because you're so scared of having to redo it again.

That fear is so real after a screw-up. @clairem81 knows the pain of redoing everything. What helps me is testing the connection gently before pushing it all the way. Maybe use a tool to feel for that solid click without overdoing it. It saves time later since loose wires mean redoing the job. After a few tries, you'll trust yourself more and work faster.
