Appreciation post: the old timer who saved me a 3 hour Samsung fridge call
I was out on a service call in Phoenix last Tuesday for a Samsung fridge that kept showing a high temp alarm. The customer was about to toss the whole unit and buy new. Old timer from the next truck over at the parts house told me to check the evaporator fan connector for corrosion first. Sure enough, three pins were green and nasty. Cleaned them with a fiberglass pen and some contact cleaner, whole job took 20 minutes instead of pulling the whole back panel. Anyone else run into this specific issue on Samsung RF models?

Wholeheartedly disagree with that take. Control board pins on these Samsung fridges aren't nearly as prone to corrosion as the evaporator fan connector. The fan connector sits right in the path of condensation and defrost cycles. That's where the moisture collects and eats the pins. Control board is up high and dry. Different story completely. Save yourself the time and don't poke around up there unless you see obvious issues.
