A customer called me out on my dryer vent work last spring

They said I left a gap where the foil tape met the wall and it was letting lint escape. I started using a mastic sealant around every connection since then and check each joint with a flashlight before I leave.

Mastic is the way. I switched to it last year and never looked back.

Honestly I used to think mastic was just overhyped and stuck with regular caulk for years. But after seeing how much cleaner it stays around my windows and how it doesn't crack in the sun, I grabbed a tube on a whim. Totally changed my mind, the stuff really does hold up way better than I expected.

Wait, you actually stopped using mastic after trying it? That stuff is like magic compared to regular caulk. Most people I know switched to mastic and never touched anything else again. Must have been a real pain dealing with cracked caulk every season before you made the change.
