Vent: my sub group in the anime club picked the worst show of the season

Our club split into three groups to review new anime and my group got stuck with that generic isekai with the 14 episode count. I spent 3 nights forcing myself through episodes 5 and 6 just to write a fair take, and my review ended up being 200 words about pacing. Anyone else get saddled with a dud pick while other groups got the good stuff?

and honestly the pacing complaint might've been too generous, I was checking my phone every thirty seconds during episode 5 just to stay awake. I feel like the other groups got lucky with their picks and we're stuck dissecting something even the voice actors seemed bored recording. maybe next season we should just draw straws or something so nobody feels cursed with the dud pick again.

We did the draw straws thing in my old watch group back in 2022 and honestly it worked out better, @paul233, because we all knew it was random and nobody could blame anyone. The trick is you gotta watch the corpse episode together with snacks and a drinking game, otherwise you're just sitting there staring at the ceiling for 45 minutes. I'd say you got off easy, at least you didn't get the one where the whole plot was just a guy walking through a desert.
