Took 3 hours to find out why the subtitle font was wrong on episode 7

I was rewatching a show on Crunchyroll and noticed the subs looked totally different from every other episode, like a different team had done them. Turns out the player defaulted to a secondary subtitle track that had a different font, and I just never checked. Has anyone else had their settings get all messed up without realizing it?

Wait, you seriously sat through three whole episodes before noticing the font change? That's like watching a bootleg copy and convincing yourself it's fine. I've had Crunchyroll randomly switch audio tracks on me before, but subtitles just magically changing fonts is a new level of weird. Honestly though, that app is held together with duct tape and prayers. Sometimes I'll pause an episode and come back to find it's playing in 480p with Spanish subs for no reason. You're lucky you only lost three hours, I've had entire seasons get borked by their player doing dumb stuff like that.

Duct tape and prayers is being generous honestly, mine runs on hopes and broken dreams at this point.
