That random guy in a forum who told me I was watching subbed wrong changed everything

I used to always watch anime with subs but I'd glance away from the screen for like 2 seconds and miss a line. Some dude on a thread said I was treating it like homework. He said read ahead not right when they speak. Try reading the whole subtitle line fast then look at the animation. I tried it for one episode of AoT and now I catch way more details in the action scenes. Has anyone else picked up some weird viewing habit that totally works?

Wait, so I've been doing anime wrong this whole time and nobody told me? I'm gonna try this reading ahead thing tonight because honestly I've been treating subs like I'm studying for a test I already failed.
