Subs over dubs for comedy anime, hear me out
Ngl, I used to be all about dubs because I liked watching the action without reading. But after trying Saiki K on Netflix with subs, I realized the jokes land way harder with the original timing. The dub added pauses that killed the punchlines, and some puns just don't translate. Has anyone else switched for specific genres like comedy or slice of life, or am I the odd one?

Wait, are you actually reading the jokes or just guessing what they mean? Dubs give you the timing, the delivery, and the voice acting that the writers actually approved for English speakers. Saiki K's dub is stacked with people who know how to sell a deadpan line, and you're missing all of that if you're staring at subtitles. Comedy is about how it sounds, not just what it says, so the dub's pauses are part of the performance, not a problem.
