Sat through a 6 hour convention panel on filler arcs and it flipped my whole watch order
I was at Anime Expo in Los Angeles back in July, third row from the back, and a panelist spent an hour breaking down how Naruto filler messes with pacing. He said the Land of Tea arc sits at episode 102 and most folks quit right before it. I went home and started skipping filler on my rewatch using a guide on my phone, and shows I dropped two years ago finally feel watchable. Now I'm wondering how many other long shows I gave up on just because I hit a bad stretch. Anyone here use a filler list or do you just push through it all?
Read a thing on a forum once where someone counted it out and said Bleach is almost half filler if you add up all the standalone arcs, like the Bount saga alone is over 40 episodes. That number stuck with me because I loved that show as a teen and totally fell off during that stretch. Now I keep a filler list pulled up on my phone for every long show and just skip past the side stuff. Some of it is fun but most of it kills the momentum. Pacing matters way more than I used to give it credit for lol.
