Rewatched Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood subbed after watching dubbed for 6 years and the sub hit way harder
I finally sat down and watched all 64 episodes of FMAB with subtitles last month after only ever seeing the English dub since 2018. The sub version made Ed's speeches about equivalent exchange feel heavier because the Japanese voice actor put this raw anger into it that the dub smoothed over. I also caught small lines the dub cut, like when Al talks about missing the taste of food, which hit me way harder in text form. Has anyone else switched from dub to sub on a rewatch and felt like they were watching a totally different show?
