Picked the crunchyroll stream over the bluray for the new season
My internet went out halfway through episode 3 of that new mecha show and I sat there staring at a loading screen for 20 minutes like an idiot. Now I'm stuck watching at 720p on my phone instead of the 4K disc I had sitting on my shelf. Anyone else regret choosing convenience over quality?

My first bluray player died after 13 months because the laser went out from playing a disc with a scratch on it. Cost me $150 to replace it and I lost access to all my physical copies until I got a new one. Meanwhile my cousin still watches the same Crunchyroll account from 2017 on a Roku stick that cost him $35 total. You talk about 4K discs like they're invincible but they scratch, they freeze, they get lost in moves. I've got three seasons of Gundam sitting in a box somewhere in my garage because I don't even know which moving box they ended up in. Streaming is ugly sometimes but at least I can't lose it under a pile of winter coats.

You mention "sitting there staring at a loading screen for 20 minutes" and then downgrading to 720p on your phone like that's somehow the streaming service's fault. The real issue is you didn't have your backup plan ready. I always download episodes on streaming before watching because I know my internet is spotty. Streaming gives me the ability to pause, rewind, and think about what I just watched without feeling like I wasted money on a disc I'll use once. Also most people can't even tell the difference between 1080p and 4K on a normal TV unless they're sitting two feet away with a magnifying glass. You're mad at streaming but really you're mad at your own setup.
