My whole anime watchlist spreadsheet got corrupted last night
I was trying to add the new season of Demon Slayer to my tracker and the whole file just turned into gibberish. I had over 200 shows logged with ratings and where I left off. I spent like an hour trying to fix it before I just gave up and started a new one from memory. Anyone have a better system they use that doesn't crash?

Ugh, that's brutal. I used to just use a notes app, but losing a list like that would kill me. I switched to a simple Google Sheet as a backup, which feels safer.

I read a tech blog last week that said spreadsheets corrupt more often than people realize. David_henderson6 has the right idea with Google Sheets, since it auto-saves and keeps version history. I use a site called AniList now, it's built for this exact problem. You just search and click to add shows, no manual entry. My backup plan is a plain text file saved in two places, which feels pretty solid after my own spreadsheet disaster last year.
