My friend swore the 'One Piece' anime was worth the 1000+ episodes, and I finally caved last winter.

I was fully prepared for filler hell, but the Alabasta arc actually had me yelling at my screen. Has a long-running show ever won you over like that?

Yeah, I get that. I put off watching Naruto for years because of the filler talk. Then a buddy made me watch the Chunin Exams arc, and I was hooked. Seeing Rock Lee drop the weights against Gaara, that whole thing just worked. Sometimes a show just needs that one story to prove it's worth your time.

That Rock Lee fight is the only reason I gave the show a real chance. Classic moment that even filler haters can appreciate lmao. Still skip the filler arcs though no regrets there.
