My buddy kept telling me to watch 'Vinland Saga' past the first 5 episodes...

I thought it was just another violent action show, but he was right that the character development for Thorfinn after episode 24 completely changes the whole series and makes you think.

My friend Dave got so mad during that farm arc he almost quit. He kept texting me saying nothing was happening and where were the fights. Then he got to the part where Thorfinn has that breakdown in the field. He called me after and was just quiet for a minute. Said it was like the show reached through the screen and asked him why he wanted to see people get hurt so bad. Totally changed how he saw the whole first season.

Yeah my buddy had to convince me too. Thought it was just a revenge story with cool fights for the whole run. That farm arc really flips everything on its head, makes you question the whole cycle of violence thing.

Wait, so you went in expecting a normal revenge story and got hit with a whole philosophy class? How did you even make it through the farm part without needing to just stare at a wall for a while? I swear that arc is a trap for people who just wanted to see cool sword fights. It's like the story just stops and asks you if you're the bad guy now.
