I finally stopped watching the first 3 episodes of a new show at 2am, and my take on the whole season was way off
Watched the first 3 eps of a hyped fall show at 2am on a Tuesday back in October and hated it, then gave it another shot at 8pm on a Sunday and ended up finishing the season in 4 days. Anyone else notice their read on a show flips completely depending on when they watch it?
3 episodes at 2am on a Tuesday is not the same as 3 episodes at 8pm on a Sunday, sure, but that alone flipping your whole take on a season feels like a stretch. I've stayed up way too late watching stuff and yeah I'm crankier, but a bad show is still bad at noon the next day. Your mood and how tired you are can change how much you enjoy something in the moment, but it doesn't rewrite what the show actually is. If one rewatch at a normal hour turned a season you hated into a 4 day binge, maybe you just went in wanting to hate it the first time. That's a you thing, not some big truth about how TV works.
