I finally saw how I was watching anime wrong for years
I was rewatching 'Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood' for maybe the fifth time, just letting it play while I scrolled on my phone. My friend Sam, who was over, asked me a simple question about a scene I'd just 'watched'. I had zero clue. He said, 'You're not even looking at it, man.' That hit me. I was treating shows like background noise instead of actually paying attention. Now I try to watch one episode a night with my phone in another room. Does anyone else have to force themselves to just watch and not multitask?

But is it really that big of a deal? Sometimes a show is just comfort noise, and that's fine. You don't need to give every single episode your full, undivided attention.

How often do you find yourself doing that?

Honestly way more than I'd like to admit, troy_ross. It's basically a daily thing at this point. Feels like a bad habit I can't shake. The worst part is knowing I should stop but just doing it anyway. Makes me wonder why we all get stuck in these loops.
