I don't get the hype around the new season of Demon Slayer

Last week, I watched the first three episodes of the new Entertainment District arc everyone is raving about. Honestly, I found the animation, especially in the big fight in episode 3, to be so flashy it was distracting from the actual story. It felt more like a tech demo than a meaningful scene. Has anyone else felt this way, or am I just missing something?

My buddy said the same thing last weekend. He was over for pizza and we put it on, and he just kept shaking his head during that big fight. He said it was like watching a fireworks show where you can't even follow the characters anymore, all style and no heart. He ended up zoning out and asking about the baseball game. Maybe they're trying too hard to top the last season?

Honestly, @victor_hall's buddy nailed it. What's the story even about now?

Wait, are we watching the same show? I actually really liked the big fight scene, thought it had some real emotional weight behind all the chaos. Simon, I get what your buddy was saying about it being flashy, but to me that moment where the main character pauses and looks at the burning building... that felt like it brought back the whole point of why they even started fighting in the first place. Maybe I'm just easy to please, but I didn't get lost in the spectacle, it grounded me more than some of the quieter episodes this season.
