Am I the only one who thinks dubs are better than subs now?

I tried watching the new season of that big action anime last week with subtitles like everyone says you should. The whole time I was just reading text and missing the fight scenes. My buddy Dave kept swearing subs are the only way to go but I switched to the English dub after three episodes and actually enjoyed it. Has anyone else just given up on subs for fast paced shows?

Man I noticed the exact same thing with my brother last month. He was watching that new cyberpunk samurai show and kept pausing to read subs, getting all frustrated during the crazy bike chase scene. I told him to just flip to the dub and he finished the whole season in one night. It's like when people say you have to read the book before the movie, but sometimes you just want to watch the movie and actually see what's happening. Dub quality has gotten crazy good too, I swear most of these voice actors now match the original energy better than the fans give them credit for.

Stop reading and actually watch the action, right? Dave can keep his subtitles, I'll take seeing the explosion instead of reading "BOOM" in tiny white letters.
