A guy at a comic shop in Denver handed me a bootleg Sailor Moon tape and it changed how I watch anime
Back in 1998 I was at a small comic shop on Colfax in Denver and this guy behind the counter saw me looking at a Sailor Moon poster. He pulled a blank VHS tape from under the counter and said the real show was way different from what was on TV here. It had subtitles taped over the English ones and the story actually made sense, and I watched that tape so many times I wore it out. Now everything streams in seconds but I still miss the hunt for a tape someone traded by hand. Does anyone else still have a dubbed or subbed copy from a friend that got them into a show?
