Talked to a guy at the thrift store who said he only shoots one roll of film a year
He said it forces him to actually see the shot before clicking the shutter, not just spray and pray. Has anyone else tried limiting yourself like that and did it actually make you better?

oh wait actually that's one roll a year? i thought you meant one roll per shoot lol. i kinda get the idea though, i did a 36 exposure challenge once where i forced myself to only take one shot of each subject and honestly it made me way more careful about composition and lighting

One roll a year? That's not a challenge, that's just... really expensive waiting. I'd forget what I even took pictures of by the time I got to develop them. The one shot per subject thing I get though, I tried that with a portrait session once and ended up spending 10 minutes just staring at someone's nose to make sure the light was right. Felt like a photographer and a weirdo at the same time.
