Pro tip: Underexposing Portra 400 by one stop gave me way richer colors in harsh midday light

I shot the same alley behind my apartment last week at box speed and again at 800, and the shadows actually had green in them instead of being this flat gray mess - has anyone else noticed that Portra handles overcast way different than direct sun?

Overexposing it in overcast light actually does the same thing for shadows.

@mark731 yeah that's basically the whole trick, it is wild how film just changes personality depending on the light
