My film advance lever jammed on frame 7 during a wedding shoot in Austin
I was shooting my cousin's wedding last Saturday in Austin with my dad's old Canon AE-1 when the film advance lever just locked up solid on frame 7. I tried everything I could think of, gently wiggling it, checking the rewind button, even tapping the body like an idiot, but nothing worked. I ended up switching to a backup point and shoot I had in my bag, but I lost a lot of the candid shots I wanted. I got the roll out later and the first 7 frames came out fine, so at least it wasn't a total loss. Has anyone dealt with a stuck advance lever on an old Canon, and is it worth trying to fix myself or should I find a repair person here in town?

Man, if tapping didn't fix it then it's probably the mirror or shutter hanging up, which means a real repair
