A guy at the camera shop in Sacramento told me my metering habit was holding me back, so I quit doing it
For about 4 months I was carrying a little Sekonic meter everywhere and taking a reading before every single frame, even outside in broad daylight. Then the old guy behind the counter at a shop in Sacramento asked why I was metering a sunny street at noon, and told me to just shoot the box speed and trust my eye for a roll. So now I leave the meter at home for daylight stuff, and honestly my shots look the same, so what do you all actually use a meter for anymore?
