Watch out for those 'free' roof inspection flyers on your door
Last Tuesday a company left a flyer promising a free roof inspection, no strings attached. I called them because a pair of shingles looked off after our spring windstorm. The guy came, spent 15 minutes on a ladder, then told me I needed $4,800 in repairs for hail damage I never filed a claim for. I got a second opinion from a licensed inspector and he found only one loose vent boot that cost $120 to fix. They were banking on me trusting their word without getting another bid. Has anyone else had these door hanger companies push fake damage since the last big storm?
