The inspector who said my new water heater was fine was wrong 14 months later
Bought a house in the Northeast Heights back in 2022. Paid $450 for a home inspection because the seller's disclosure looked too clean. Inspector spent 10 minutes on the water heater, said it had a few years left, no red flags. Fast forward to March this year, tank starts making popping noises at 2am. Plumber opens it up, found a cracked heat exchanger and sediment so deep it looked like a gravel pit. Replacement cost me $1,800 plus a hotel night because the whole utility room flooded. That inspector quoted me a 90 day warranty and vanished. Anyone else get a glowing report from a guy who clearly never turned on a single appliance?
