Switched from a drip system to soaker hoses for my veggie beds and wish I'd done it sooner

I had those little drip emitters all over my raised beds for two years and kept dealing with clogged lines and uneven watering. Finally swapped to simple flat soaker hoses from the hardware store for about $30 total. My tomatoes and peppers are way more consistent now and I don't have to fiddle with emitters every weekend. Has anyone else made this switch and noticed a big difference in their garden?

Call me crazy but I actually went the other direction. Started with soaker hoses three years ago. They were a pain for me. Wet spots everywhere and dry spots in between. Swapped to drip tape with pressure regulator and haven’t looked back. Soakers just don’t give you the control you need for different bed shapes.

Wait, did you really have that much trouble with them? I've always been a soaker hose loyalist because they were cheaper and I'm lazy lol. But you're making me rethink things - I've definitely noticed some spots in my veggie beds getting way more water than others, especially where the hose curves around my tomato cages. Maybe I need to actually look into this drip tape setup you mentioned, because uneven watering has been driving me nuts this summer.
