My neighbor called me out for watering at noon in the summer heat
He told me I was losing half my water to evaporation and my grass was just getting scorched anyway. I switched to watering at 6am and my water bill dropped $40 last month anyone else get called out for bad lawn habits?

Got my neighbor yelling at me for power washing my driveway in the middle of a drought warning. I was just trying to get the moss off before it took over the whole slab. He came storming over with his water conservation pamphlet and everything, like I was personally draining the reservoir. I didn't even know there was a drought warning, I just saw moss and got mad. Now I only power wash after a big rain when everyone's already used to the wet, feels less guilty that way.

Honestly I used to be that guy who'd power wash his driveway no matter what, rain or shine, drought or flood. But after my neighbor gave me a similar talk about water restrictions, I actually looked into it and realized how much water those things waste. Now I just wait for a decent rain and hit the moss with vinegar and a stiff broom, it actually works better than I expected plus no guilt trip from anyone.
