Hail damage from that storm 2 weeks ago - getting quotes and going crazy
The hailstorm on May 8th messed up my roof pretty bad. I've got three contractors coming out next week to give estimates and they're all saying different things about whether insurance will cover it. One guy said my shingles need full replacement at $8,500, another said I just need patching. My deductible is $2,500 so I'm trying to figure out if it's even worth filing a claim. Has anyone dealt with this in the NE Heights area and found a roofer who was honest about what insurance actually pays?

Honestly three different contractors giving three different stories is a red flag right there. If the damage was that bad they'd all be saying the same thing about full replacement. I'd get a fourth quote and an adjuster out before you even think about filing anything.

Totally agree with @evanr79 on this. I've been through the same mess before and the trick is to not even mention insurance when you call the next contractor. Just ask for a quote on fixing it, leave the word "claim" out of it. A good adjuster will spot the real damage right away and make the call on whether it's a full replacement or just a repair, so let them do their job before you do anything official.
