Found a huge crack in my foundation after that big rain last week
Walked into my basement Tuesday morning and saw a quarter-inch crack running along the wall near the furnace. Got quoted $1,200 to fix it plus waterproofing. Anyone else dealing with foundation issues after those monsoon storms?

Ugh, "found a huge crack in my foundation" hits so hard. I feel for you, that is such a gut punch to see especially after a big storm. That $1200 quote is brutal but honestly that doesn't sound crazy for a fix plus waterproofing, mine ended up being more last year. I had a similar crack show up after a crazy downpour and I was freaking out because water was seeping in right near my hot water heater. It's a good idea to get it looked at soon, trust me, waiting just makes it worse and more expensive.

My $800 fix three years ago is still holding fine though. A lot of these waterproofing guys push the expensive stuff because they make more money on sealants and drainage systems you might not actually need. Have you checked if the crack is even getting wider or just cosmetic?
