Finally figured out why my stucco kept cracking near the windows
Took me three years and a conversation with a retired mason at Lowe's to realize I was using the wrong mix for patching. He pointed out that the store bought stuff shrinks way more than a custom lime mix, especially in our dry climate. Ended up redoing two window patches on my 1980s house and they came out smooth for the first time. Makes me wonder how many other little fixes I've been doing wrong around here without knowing it.

I read that store bought stucco mix has more Portland in it which makes it crack.

Didnt the older mixes have lime in em to make em more flexible?
