Dropped $400 on a radon mitigation system last spring
My basement was reading at like 5.2 pCi/L and after they put the fan in it dropped to 0.8. Best money I've spent on the house so far honestly has anyone else tested their levels?

...and honestly my neighbor was telling me I was overreacting because he's lived in his house for 20 years without testing. Then his wife got lung cancer last year and they're still not sure if it was the radon or her smoking. Makes you think. I mean, $400 is a lot for a fan in a pipe but when you put it against medical bills later it feels like pocket change. My own levels were around 3.7 before mitigation and now they sit at 0.9. The installer told me the fan should last about 10 years so I'm hoping it holds up. Your mileage may vary but I figure better safe than sorry with something you can't see or smell.

Right? My basement hit 4.8 and after mitigation it's at 0.6, night and day difference.
