Dropped $200 on a drip irrigation kit that fell apart in 3 months

Bought one of those big box store drip irrigation kits last spring for my front yard garden. Figured it would save me time watering and be a one time deal. By July half the connectors were cracking and the tubing had split in two spots from the sun. Definitely should have spent the extra cash on better parts from a local supply house. Anyone else find a brand that actually holds up in this heat?

Man those big box store kits are such a waste of money. I swear they design them to fall apart after one season so you have to buy another one. I started buying my fittings from a local irrigation supply place and the difference is night and day. The tubing alone from the cheap kits is way too thin to handle any real sun exposure. Something like Rain Bird or Toro at actual supply houses is worth the extra cash.

Double check your local water pressure too, @grant.richard. Those kits assume perfect conditions but never tell you that part.
