That open house in Cochrane made me hate staging forever

I walked into a place off Highway 22 last Saturday and the realtor had those fake plastic plants everywhere. The whole house smelled like artificial lavender and the couch had tags still on it. They even had a bottle of cheap wine and two glasses set up in the dining room pretending someone lived there. Who actually falls for that stuff and does anyone else get annoyed by fake staging tricks?

The fake staging stuff drives me CRAZY too. I walked into a place last year where they had wrapped a throw blanket around a clearly broken chair leg so nobody would notice. It's just dishonest and makes me trust the realtor way less.

Honestly, @lily394 that throw blanket trick is slick but those fake plants are worse because they wilt under a real touch and you just called it out perfectly.
