Shoutout to the old timer in Red Deer who set me straight on attic ventilation
When I bought my first place in Red Deer back in 1998, I stuffed a foot of fiberglass right up against the roof deck and thought I was being smart about heat loss. A retired builder down the street took one look at my soffits and said I was cooking my own shingles from the inside, and he was dead right because I had frost buildup by February. Most folks still get this wrong and seal off the soffit vents when they top up insulation. How are you all keeping the air path open up there?
