My 1970s cast iron sink finally cracked after 50 years
The old double basin sink in my farmhouse near Leduc got a hairline crack last Tuesday while I was washing a heavy pot. I've had that sink since we bought the place in 1998 and it was already old then. Has anyone else had luck finding a replacement that fits those weird vintage measurements?

Oh man, that hurts. Our old sink from the 70s finally gave up the ghost last year and I felt like I was losing a family member. Those things were built like tanks. The measurements are a total nightmare though, I had to get a custom build made because nothing off the shelf would fit the cutout. Local metal shop welded up a nice stainless double basin for us, cost a bit more but worth it to not have to redo the whole countertop. Hope you find something that works, vintage stuff is always a pain to replace but so hard to let go of.
