Last month at the Co-op parking lot, a guy told me my new roof vents were all wrong for Alberta winters

He said the 3-inch stack vents I installed would ice up and crack by February. Anyone else had a roofer tell them to switch to insulated exhaust boots?

Oh man, I switched to insulated boots two winters ago and zero issues since.

Same here. Got a pair of Baffin Impacts two years ago and my feet finally stay warm all day shoveling. Went through three winters before that with regular boots and always ended up with cold toes by noon. The insulation makes a huge difference when you're standing around outside for hours. Can't believe I waited that long to switch.
