Ditched my wood stove after 12 winters, the pellet insert surprised me
I bought my place near Red Deer back in 2011 with this big old wood burner as the main heat. Every fall I'd be out splitting rounds and every January I'd swear at the creosote buildup. Last spring I finally swapped it for a pellet insert, figured it would be limp and fussy. Honestly after 8 months the thing holds a steady 20 degrees through -35 stretches with way less mess. Any other folks out there make the switch and stick with it?
