Why does nobody talk about using a vacuum before drilling holes for sensors?
I used to just drill straight into the wall and wipe up the dust after. Last month at a job in Denver I tried taping a shop vac hose right under the bit while drilling, and there was almost zero dust on the floor or in the air. Normally I spend 10 minutes wiping down baseboards and window sills after each sensor, but this cut it to like 30 seconds. The homeowner even said she didn't have to dust her shelves afterward. Has anyone else tried rigging a vac to the drill, or do you just deal with the mess?
