Tried a cheap cellular dialer on a farm install, got a surprise 3AM callback
Last month I put in a budget cellular dialer on a remote well house outside Bozeman because running a landline was gonna cost the customer $600. The panel was fine, the dialer tested perfect at 2PM, no issues at all. Then at 3AM the monitoring station called me saying the alarm went off for a water leak. Drove out there, no leak, just the dialer's internal temp sensor tripping on a cold snap. I switched it to a better unit and the customer still paid me extra for the emergency trip. Anyone else had cheap communicators throw false signals when temps drop below 20 degrees?
