That old installer who told me to stop running wires by the AC duct said it would cause false alarms and I blew him off until I had to redo an entire 8-zone panel in Phoenix last July.

After three days of ghost signals on zone 4, I finally pulled the line set cover off and found the wire insulation melted right where it crossed the duct, exactly like he warned me, so has anyone else dealt with heat-related false triggers in attics or did I just get lucky my whole career until now?

And here I thought I was the only one lucky enough to have my life imitate a random internet post from Texas. Go figure my summer project would come with a free membership to that club. Maybe I should just start charging admission before I teach another DIY masterclass in futility.
