That $200 fiberglass ladder almost killed me on a job yesterday

Bought one of those cheap lightweight ladders from a big box store a few months ago for about $200. Was running a new wire in a attic crawl space and the thing just buckled when I shifted my weight. Landed on a stack of old boxes but could have been way worse. Anyone else had bad luck with these budget ladders or is it just me?

hold on lets not act like all cheap ladders are death traps. i got the same kind from home depot and its been fine for 2 years now. you probably just got a bad one or maybe you were putting too much weight on it wrong. those things have weight limits for a reason and if you're loading it up with tools and gear plus your own body you gotta be careful. not saying it didn't happen but one bad experience doesnt mean the whole product line is garbage.

Fell off my own cheap ladder last month and landed on my tool bag with a screwdriver sticking out. Bruised my tailbone for two weeks and now my girlfriend calls me "Captain Safety" whenever I grab a step stool. That fiberglass crap folds like a cheap lawn chair when you least expect it.
