Showerthought: those hybrid alarm panels I hated are actually pretty solid
I was super skeptical when my distributor in Phoenix pushed those 2GIG panels a few years back... thought they'd be finicky junk. But after installing maybe 40 of them in the last 6 months, I've only had one service call for a faulty touchscreen. Anyone else have a brand or tech they resisted that turned out to be reliable?

Oh man, you're not alone there. I had the same exact feeling when I first saw those hybrid panels come through. I was like, "Great, another thing that's gonna break and make me look bad to customers." But yeah, after putting in a bunch of them myself, I've gotta admit they hold up way better than I expected. That single touchscreen issue you had sounds pretty minor compared to the old wired stuff that would just give out for no reason. It's funny how something you resist ends up being the reliable workhorse you didn't know you needed.

lol yeah the first few I installed I was waiting for something to go wrong but honestly they've been solid. I started keeping a spare touchscreen in my truck just in case though, saved me once when a customer's kid decided to punch theirs.
